| SECONDO MONA is ever since located in a very beautiful country area just south of Lake Maggiore and within the Regional Park of Ticino River and, as such, Environment has always been an issue for the Company. Besides adapting to the obligations arising from the local and national legislation SECONDO MONA has put in place, since 2007 and on a voluntary basis, an Environmental Management System that has been certified by DET NORSKE VERITAS in accordance with the standard UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 and is regularly maintained.
Environmental issues have been adopted also with regard to product development and production processes to reduce chemicals and in accordance with the REACH Regulation 1907/2006 towards our Supply Chain. More recently, and in accordance with European and national policies, SECONDO MONA is implementing new technologies for the production of energy from renewable sources, such as solar power, for a sustainable development of the Company and a reduction of costs. The Company produces some 10% of its energy needs. Other investments have been directed to reduce energy waste such as heat and water. SECONDO MONA cares also for a clean and safe working environment in respect of the applicable law according to European and national standards and of peoples well being in the Company. |
