 APPLICATION:

1903

Mr. Secondo Mona opens a shop for the sale & repair of bicycles and motorcycles.

1913  

Attracted by the rising adventure of modern aviation, he starts with the repair & overhaul of aero-engines installed on the first aircraft flying from the nearby field of Malpensa.

1923  

The company Secondo Mona obtains the quality certification A.M. (Albert Moulet) for the design & production of on-board fuel equipment and will give important contributions to the famous long-distance flights and records established during these years.

1931

Dipl. Ing. Bruno Mona, the son of Secondo, joins the company after graduation in aeronautical engineering at the Polytechnic in Zürich and starts European co-operations within the aeronautical community.

1942  

Secondo Mona reaches its maximum production capacity with over 1000 people employed.

1950

The Italian Aerospace Industry is again allowed to design and manufacture aircraft and Secondo Mona readily undertakes to support it, renewing its capabilities in the equipment field.

1960

The launch of the F104G Starfighter programme leads Secondo Mona to establish co-operations with U.S. companies and to acquire production licences and agencies.

1970

In the meantime, both Dr. Roberto and Dr. Renato Mona, sons of Bruno, have entered the company and work for the development of important contributions to the newly born Tornado MRCA multinational programme.

1980  

In parallel to Aerospace production, the company starts to develop also applications for Land and Naval programmes.

1990

Secondo Mona is ready to meet the challenge of supporting important multinational programmes such as the Eurofighter aircraft and the NH90 helicopter and to acquire new technical competencies in hydraulics and electromechanics.

2000  

Dr. Riccardo and Dr. Claudia Mona, sons of Renato, enter as the fourth generation in the family business. Secondo Mona is now ready to make the step from equipment supplier to system supplier with contract award for the complete fuel system and iron bird for the new Aermacchi jet trainer M346.

2003  

In the year of the Centennial of flight Secondo Mona S.p.A. celebrates its 100 years of activity and 90 years of activity in support to the aerospace industry.

2006 New competences have been achieved in the manufacture of Landing Gear Components for military and civil applications allowing Secondo Mona to be awarded a contract for the production of major Landing Gear parts that equip the B787 Dreamliner and many other commercial programmes.
